God ebay is totally doing my head in now with all these changes!

Its bad enough that you can no longer leave negative comments for non paying buyers, that they have increased the total fees you pay, but also with the unpaid dispute process that is rubbish too..Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Just had a right big moan to them on the phone, and feeling a bit mean, but hey they are happy enough to take our monies and just seem to be pro buyers, I buy alot of stuff off ebay myself but also sell costumes on there, and feel that as a seller at the moment I am not protected anymore!

Who sells on Etsy, how is it?

I love Etsy. I've always used EBay because I've gotten pretty good at finding deals you can't find a lot of other places, but not only are they completely swarmed with people selling wholesale amounts of items (trying to sort through a basic search is a nightmare because there's 70,000 of the same item!)... Etsy is like an internet boutique mixed with a thrift store that makes me really happy. It feels like supporting small business, which I encourage.

My coworker sells vintage finds on Etsy and she's pretty happy with them from a seller's standpoint! I'm going to be selling re-made vintage dresses soon, so hopefully I'll have some good luck. Definitely going that route before EBay!

I'm so much happier now that I've switched my store over to Etsy. The fees were just outrageous on Ebay. I also agree about the whole supporting small business thing. The people I have bought from so far all seem really into what they do and have little personal touches.

As far as my sales go, I might not have as many as I did on ebay, but I'm also not underselling things so I'm actually making more money. Also, I get custom orders like crazy.

Yeah, I think Im gonna give it a go on etsy, put a few things up and see how they sell, as a UK seller, Im not sure how many uk buyers look on etsy though, as ebay is the biggest fish, but like I said, don't really feel they are supporting the small business anymore!

Just remember that etsy is for handmade by you or remade by you, also vintage or diy components.

        no imported mass produced items.

Thanks Angelia, I have one stock box of costuming that I import, and I am aware of Etsy selling guidlines, Ive sold a few of my handmade items direct, so will be cool to reach a larger market :-)
